Getting Off The Ground

Finally, on the road (or in the air, as it were)

November 29: After months of planning, it seemed surreal to be at the airport and ready to go.

Naturally, our first flight out of Bellingham was delayed.

We were heading to Seattle to catch a connecting flight to San Francisco and Seattle was fogged in. Of course they neglected to mention this until we were already settled in on the plane. Luckily, we were allowed off the plane to grab a bite to eat (Note to self: always carry emergency rations!)

Nearly 2 hours later and we finally took off for Seattle, getting a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier on the way.

We also made our connecting flight to San Fran just in time. Things are looking up!

It was a fortunate accident that a quick, two night, stay in San Francisco was our first stopover. It allowed us to experience our first flight delays without too much stress. Going through security, changing planes and running through the airport with our carry-ons, and then trying to find all of our essentials once we finally got to the hotel made us realize that we nee to do some serious reorganizing of our surprisingly heavy bags. (Keep an eye out for a video on that coming soon!)
